'Like several other places in Suffolk, Livermere can claim to have been frequently honoured by the visits of royalty, for here several of the Stewart princes indulged in the ancient sport of falconry, a fact which gives interest to a tombstone in the churchyard of Great Livermere and which covers the remains of William Sakings, who as stated in the inscription, was falconer to Charles the First, Charles the Second and James the Second'
